Independent Domestic Violence Advocacy Service (IDVAS) – Sheffield
What we do
We are here to help you by providing impartial advice and support if you are a high risk victim of domestic abuse. Our supportive staff are trained to deliver specialist support, working in partnership with multiple agencies and you with the aim of increasing safety for you and your dependents. We also aim to reduce the risk of further domestic abuse and the effects this may have on you.

- Represent your views at multi agency risk assessment conferences (MARAC)

- Access to additional support services including those around health, substance misuse and mental health, including treatment programmes.
- Access to volunteering, education and employment
Additionally members of the IDVAS team also deliver training across the city to raise awareness of domestic abuse and the multiple and complex related needs of the victim including specific training in respect of young people, mental health and female genital mutilation, honour based violence and forced marriage. The IDVAS team are constantly providing institutional advocacy and supporting other services across the city to raise general awareness and develop the domestic abuse services across the city of Sheffield.

How to apply
Referrals can be made by any agency completing a referral form. Alternatively you can call our helpline and refer yourself on 0808 808 2241
Referrals will be accepted via the telephone and are in confidence. We act in accordance with the Data Protection Act. Information can be translated upon request.
